17/01: Blog Introduction
Note*Date is backdated to that of original post.*
Because I write a variety of things and can't seem to let any one of them go, I plan to explore a little of each, with 7 categories, one for each day of the week. I also encourage comments as you feel nudged.
The schedule is as follows:
Sunday
Encouragement for This Life. This category is more likely to be serious. You did realize I can do that, right? I know it's a shock, but that is quite alright. My mom never realized I could be serious until my senior year in high school.
Monday
Writing Prompts and Exercises. Ok, as I step further out of my comfy box and leave the security blanket behind, I learn the value of forcing others to do the same. So this category is for all my writer friends as much as it is for me. I encourage you to try these and post your results somewhere on your pages. Or not, it's up to you.
Tuesday
A Day in the Life of My Imaginary Friend. This isn't as way out there as you might think. I got this idea as I drove home from a writer's meeting. What better way could there be to get to know a character than to follow his/her journal for a year? So, you will come to know this character about as well as do, once I actually meet, him, her or it.
Wednesday
Philosophically Speaking. Who knows what will come out of this?
Thursday
Imagination Station. Stephen King starts a lot of his novels by thinking "What If---" and I've learned that you can do a lot with this.
Friday
A Very Wingnutted Adventure. These stories are all true. I've lined up the first ones. I have apologies to the poor folks (besides me) who happen to be in them. Names WILL be left out and forewarnings provided as much as possible. I hope.
Saturday
Lists. No minimum or maximum. Paragraphs, comments, quips, or graphics may or may not be involved. Humor should be involved.
I will probably need help sticking to this schedule. I have a real hard time forcing myself to write once a week, much less every day. In fact, I'll be able to think of all sorts of cool stuff someone else should write while remaining totally blank on my own work.
Now pardon me while I work on being totally serious for tomorrow. Ok, maybe not totally
