“Oh, look! A dollar bill!”
“Wow, there it hides in the crevice behind that rock, right next to the brickwork. Can you reach it?”
“I can’t jump that high. Give me a leg up, would you?”
“Here you go, steady now---have you gained weight?”
“C’mon now, al---most got it. Eww, it’s wet and sticky. Boost me higher.”
“On my shoulders—that better?”
“Yeah, I can reach it fine now. Hey, it’s stuck fast. Got a knife? I’ll pry it loose.”
“Here’s my pocket knife, careful—don’t fall.”
“Thanks.”
….
“Hey, this thing is really stuck! It ain’t com’n out at all.”
“Well come on then, my shoulders hurt and we are late for class now.”
“Gee—whiz, man. It was a dollar bill!”
“Let’s go, we gotta hurry now.”

“Look, a dollar bill!”

Now it's your turn. What can you write about a dollar bill?

I invite you to try these too. Just go with it, as many times as you like. I drafted a short quip and a longer poem. I'm out of practice doing these, but I'll get smoother in time. Just watch.

My Response 1:

The dog licked the juicy steak I’d just put on my plate. How dare she! Right behind her came four puppies, eager to taste their share. I took some juice from the steak and put a little over the puppy food.
I watched my wonderful steak disappear behind the jowls of my St Bernard. I cooked an egg.

My Reponse 2:

The dog licked my baby’s face.
He didn’t hesitate or slow his pace
But shared his love for my little boy
And the two together, shared such joy
As none compared to any other
Cousin, friend, sister, or brother.
My son and his dog, a troublesome duo
That I wouldn’t trade for anything
And that is the truth! Oh
How do you live without a good pet
To slobber your ears and keep your food wet?
Watching this pair brings me such joy
To see such love
Between a dog and his boy.

Now it's your turn.
