Featuring the Poetry of

"ana mae vara"

Who is ana mae vara?

If a poet is born, then made better through writing from the heart and learning with the mind, then truly,
ana mae vara is a poet in mind and heart.

--Bea Sheftel

From The Poet's Pen

My latest poetry venture is the series of Bible Stories in rhyme for little ones.  You may read those by clicking here.

I plan to cut down on the amount of poetry I display, or at least condense it to fewer pages.  Whether or not I choose to rotate pieces is really up to me when I have time to think about it.  That isn't today, so work your way through stuff you don't remember reading.  .

I sat in Spanish II with a few friends who pestered me to the point of exhaustion.

"You are going to be famous one day.  Famous poets have a nom de plume.  Create yours now so we know when we read your work."

Me?  Famous?

"How can I pick a name?."

Describe yourself as a poet.

I wrote a statement and mutated it into a name.
